Fairlight folk are delighted to present:
Music from the Celtic edge
Señor Cabrales’ unique sound, combining Spanish bagpipes, fiddle, flute, mandolin, bouzouki and bodhran, has been thrilling audiences across Australia. Let them take you on an exciting Celtic musical journey from wild Atlantic coast of northern Spain, through Brittany to the windswept and haunted outer islands of Scotland……
Witches Leap take the dark modal sounds of old Ireland, filter them through the hanging swamps of the Blue Mountains and cut them with original convict-noir folk songs of black bushrangers and errant redcoats. Born out of the kitchen table sessions of County Katoomba, this trio features the ancient earthy tones of the uilleann pipes, wooden Irish flute and bouzouki, along with acclaimed songwriting from Paddy Connor (Lime and Steel). With original tunes springing from the local sandstone and mythology, Irish trad music goes on a journey through the grit of early New South Wales.
Indie folk singer songwriter Ryan has an impressive musical lineage with a professional violinist and Persian musician Mother and violin luthier father. Ryan is emerging onto the Sydney music scene and we are delighted to host him at Fairlight folk.
